Originally the brainchild of financial genius Robert G. McMahon and company, the smallish chestnut was discovered at
the Keeneland yearling sale of 2002. After going to the barn of world-renowned trainer Doug Oliver, Gato Bob failed
to live up to the high expectations of those around him. After McMahon attained equine superstars such as Pop the Latch,
Gato Bob was sadly shuffled to the back like the red-headed stepchild that he was. And so he dwelt in a land of
obscurity and mediocrity for years, races dwindling away like sands through the hourglass. But alas! The stepchild
was rescued from this land of obscurity; this blue-collar life. In May of 2006, he left the Oliver/ R.G. McMahon connections
and was shipped to the "Dream Team" in Altoona, IA. And so, they are assigned the Herculean task of giving this forgotten
thoroughbred a new chance at success; a new chance at life!
